Touching History - Agora's China Trip, April 2017
Agora teacher and tour coordinator Trisa Lesczynski, writes about this great trip: Beijing was unlike any place I have ever traveled. Growing and developing at such a fast pace, yet remains true to its past with the Forbidden City at the center and heart of the city. This was the most cultural and educational tour I have taken to date with the Agora International Travel Club. For example, we were invited into a family’s home where they cooked and served us lunch. We visited a school and interacted with middle school students who have been learning English for a few year. I will never forget the markets where you can purchase anything from fresh fish to animal organs, and even insects. (I would not eat them for all the tea in China!!) I have no words to describe how it felt to walk and touch such a historical structure that is over 2300 years old – that’s right- The Great Wall of China! There were nine people in our group for this trip: five are Agora students, one is a former student, a dad, and two teachers. Hope you enjoy our photos!
